Ways To Give

Current Initiatives
There are many ways to give to UCDS. Annual initiatives, like the Annual Campaign and the Auction, cover the differential between tuition and what it actually costs to educate a student at UCDS. This gap is about $2,000 per student per year. The auction also helps to fund financial aid, teacher excellence and special projects (technology, library books, science equipment, etc.). Special Campaigns such as the UCDS Forever Endowment Campaign raise funds to support long-term goals set by the Board.
You may specify that your gift be targeted for a specific program or purpose, or you may leave your gift unrestricted - to be used where it's needed most.

How to Make a Gift
Gifts can be made in a variety of forms including outright gifts of cash, securities, and real estate or through planned giving options such as bequests and life income plans. Your gift to UCDS is tax-deductible.
- Gifts of Cash: A cash gift entitles the donor to an income tax charitable deduction in the year in which the gift was made. To make an outright gift, send a money order or check payable to University Child Development School. Gifts may also be made by credit card directly online through the link below or on the UCDS Annual Fund Donation Page or the UCDS Forever Endowment Campaign Donation Page.
- Gifts of Securities: In most cases, an outright gift of appreciated securities entitles the donor to an income tax charitable deduction for the fair market value of the securities and, in the case of securities which have been held for more than a year, the avoidance of the capital gains tax. Click here for more information.
- Gifts of Tangible Personal Property: If the donor gives a tangible asset, such as a work of art, which has appreciated in value, and the asset is used by UCDS in its educational program, the donor receives a charitable deduction equal to the asset's full fair market value. However, if the School does not use the asset, the donor's charitable deduction is limited to his or her cost basis. If you would like to make a gift of tangible property to UCDS, consult a tax accountant and contact our Director of Development, .
- Planned Giving: A planned gift incorporates philanthropy with estate and financial planning to benefit both you and UCDS. Planned gifts (including gifts of real estate, life insurance, charitable gift annuities) can provide many financial and non-financial benefits to you, including fulfillment of philanthropic goals, tax savings, and asset management. If you are considering a planned gift to UCDS please consult a financial planner and our Director of Development, .
