The UCDS Teacher Education Center (TEC) creates and cultivates professional development opportunities, innovative programs and educational partnerships. The TEC is committed to promoting teacher excellence and enhancing education at UCDS and in the broader community.

During this event, Tony will discuss his latest research and recently published book: The Global Achievement Gap: Why Even Our Best Schools Don’t Teach The New Survival Skills Our Children Need—And What We Can Do About It?

About the speaker
Tony Wagner has served as Co-Director of CLG at the Harvard Graduate School of Education since its inception in 2000. An initiative of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, CLG is an “R & D” center that helps teams to be effective change leaders in schools and districts. Tony consults widely to public and independent schools, districts, and foundations around the country and internationally and has been a senior advisor on education to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for the past nine years.

Logistics
The event will take place in the Interconnection Auditorium at University Child Development School. We are located at 50th and 9th Avenue NE across from the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Parking for the event will be available in the Blessed Sacrament Church Parking lot, which may be entered from 8th Ave NE, one block west of 9th Ave NE. Additional parking will be available in the UCDS parking lot located at the north end of 9th Avenue NE at 53rd St. If both lots are full, there is ample street parking within the neighborhood.
