Each year the UCDS Annual Fund raises funds that are essential in support of the school's yearly operating budget.
Why do we need an Annual Fund?
Tuition alone does not cover the costs of the outstanding education children receive at UCDS:
- Low Student to Teacher Ratio of 8:1 provides responsive, personal attention for your child.
- Individualized, Child-Centered Instruction helps to discover, nurture, and stretch your child's abilities.
- Highly Collaborative Teaching brings energy, creativity, and collective wisdom to the classroom each day.
- Outstanding Specialists deliver exciting explorations into music, physical education, language, art, science and technology.
What is the Annual Fund
UCDS is a non-profit educational institution. As with most independent schools, our tuition alone does not cover the full cost of the extraordinary education we provide. The annual “tuition gap” averages $2000 per student. To cover that gap, we rely heavily on the Annual Fund.
We are shaking things up this year! The UCDS Parent Association and the UCDS Development team are joining forces to streamline—and shorten!—fall fundraising. The Annual Fund will be short and sweet, completed by (drum roll please)…September 21st! As a departure from past practice, a portion of the Annual Fund proceeds will fund Parent Association activities, We ask each family to participate in the UCDS Annual Fund at a level appropriate for them. Please support this cornerstone of our annual fundraising. Sally Foster wrapping paper will still be available. Details to come.
