Auction Recap!
By Sarah McCoy, UCDS Parent
From the microscopic molecules strung in the air to the zany science films and Jack's blinking suit, the auction proved to be a spectacular and financially successful night for UCDS. The auction raised a total of $400,000.
Everyone came together to ensure that the science lab will have great equipment. On top of that, your generosity funded Spanish supplies, science books, an artistic gate and those important fund-an-items: Teacher Excellence and Financial Aid. This year's auction raised the most ever for financial aid.
With attendance at a healthy 392 people, it's clear that many families had March 15 in red on their calendars and that many, many people chipped in to give whatever they could.
"We are thrilled to have seen so many people having a great time at the auction!" said auction co-chairs Patty Mastrude and Andrea Lieberman. "Thanks to all who attended, and thanks especially to all the many committee chairs and volunteers who did such an amazing job putting the event together. It really was a G.A.S.!"
Though Patty Mastrude and Andrea Lieberman were busy thanking others after the auction, they also deserve our appreciation for their long hours, cheerful dispositions and tremendous organizing skills. Thank you Patty and Andrea! Thank you also, fifth graders. You paraded proudly in your nerd glasses and lab coats. Great job!
