Resident Teaching Position

University Child Development School (UCDS) is an independent school teaching children age three through fifth grade in a progressive, child-centered environment. All classes are multi-age. We are now accepting applications for the 2008-2009 school year.

Resident Teachers work with mentor teachers in classrooms of small class sizes. The Resident Program gives Residents pertinent teaching experience with thoughtful mentorship and useful professional development opportunities. UCDS has an advanced, individualized curriculum, hands-on/manipulative materials and a highly collaborative faculty. Residents have all the responsibilities of faculty members: planning curriculum, assessing students, writing reports, attending/facilitating parent conferences, leading lessons and working on a teaching team.

This is a full-time position that starts in mid-August and continues through mid-June. The salary is approximately $2430 per month, plus an additional $220 per month towards benefits, for ten months. Hiring begins in March and ends mid-June. The position starts August 11, 2008.

Classroom Teacher

University Child Development School (UCDS) is an independent school teaching children age three through fifth grade in a progressive, child-centered environment.

UCDS has an advanced, individualized curriculum, hands-on/manipulative materials and small, multi-age classrooms. Responsibilities include planning curriculum, leading lessons, assessing students, writing reports and facilitating parent conferences. The successful candidate must honor individual learning styles, be able to work as part of a team, demonstrate excellent communication skills and creatively use the latest educational research. Prefer 3+ years teaching experience.
