Resident Teacher
Classroom Teacher
University Child Development School (UCDS) is an independent elementary school serving Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade in a progressive, child-centered environment. All classes are multi-age.
Resident Teachers work with mentor teachers in classrooms of small class sizes. The Resident Program gives Residents teaching experience with thoughtful mentorship and professional development opportunities. UCDS has an advanced, individualized curriculum, hands-on/manipulative materials and a highly collaborative faculty. Residents have all the responsibilities of faculty members: planning curriculum, assessing students, writing narrative reports, attending/facilitating parent conferences, leading lessons and participating on a teaching team.
This is a full-time position that begins August 16th, 2010 and continues through June 17th, 2011. The salary is approximately $2800/month, plus an additional benefit stipend of $280/month, for ten months. Hiring begins mid-March, 2010 and ends mid-June, 2010.

University Child Development School (UCDS) is an independent school teaching children age three through fifth grade in a progressive, child-centered environment.
UCDS has an advanced, individualized curriculum, hands-on/manipulative materials and small, multi-age classrooms. Responsibilities include planning curriculum, leading lessons, assessing students, writing reports and facilitating parent conferences. The successful candidate must honor individual learning styles, be able to work as part of a team, demonstrate excellent communication skills and creatively use the latest educational research. Prefer 3+ years teaching experience.
