Question of the Week: |
Today, you caught a glimpse of how the Lewis and Clark journey to the West Coast began. Lewis and Clark would bring a total of 33 enlisted men with them to Fort Clatsop, the point at which they ended their journey for the winter in 1805. Why do you think people journey or explore? Brainstorm all of the people you can think of through time who have gone on a journey? Who were they? Why do you think they went on their exploration? What, if anything, did they find? |

Our thoughts about the Question of the
Week Lets take Christopher Columbus for example. He went on his FAMOUS journey to find goods for his Queen. When he landed in the new world, he thought he had found India,which is why we still call Native Americans Indians. He had been wanting to find India , with all its gold and riches, but little did he know that there was a land block in beetween. THat landblock is what we now call America. Another example of explorers are the Knights of the Round Table. THey went on their Journey for a toatally different reason. The Knigts of the Round Table lived in the middle ages and in the middle ages people were very religeous. The reason The knights ofthe round table went on thier quest because God supposedly told them to.THey were searching for the Holy Grail which is some golden goblet with a mass of jewls on it. They never did find it, but thier struggles were many. The last example is Magellan, who tried to sail around the World. The reason he tried to do such a stupid thing(as it would have been thought of in his day) was for fame. He never did make it because he was killed by some unfriendly Natives, but his crew escaped and finished the journey. By Anneka & Fiona |
