Why would Lewis rather fight two indians than 1 bear? 9.Did the chinook indians make there forehead flat for beauty? 10.what did they use this for? Now here are some answers   1. To claim the land for the U.S.   2. They built forts, some people were carpenters.   3. Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis to claim the land for the U.S. and he chose Clark as second in command.   4.He burst his appendix?   5. Sacajawea means "Bird Woman".   6.
